Single Parent Scholarship
WHY PURSUE A SCHOLARSHIP FOR SINGLE MOMS AND DADS?
Generations College is proud to announce that we are offering a SINGLE PARENTS SCHOLARSHIP. This opportunity is for all single parents that are need-based students who qualify for this scholarship. This scholarship fully subsidizes the remaining tuition balance after grant funding allowing all recipients to obtain their Associate’s Degree at no cost to them. In order to receive this scholarship a student must:
- Be need-based — Pell Eligible(0) EFC for the entire program.
- This scholarship will cover up to $3,500/semester. If a stenography machine or laptop is needed you may need to take a portion of loans.
- Must not exceed 300% Pell LEU.
- Be able to prove that they are a single parent of a child that is 23 years old or younger. In order to do so you must provide either:
- A birth certificate
- An child’s insurance card
- Enroll as a full-time student.
- Provide a one-page single-parent essay (500 words minimum) in regards to why you need this scholarship and what you plan to do with your career once you get your degree. Please click here to view our Admission Essay Plagiarism Policy.
- Have a 2.0 GPA or higher verified through your most recent high school, high school equivalent, or college transcripts
- Must test into college level scores on placement exams.
- Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or better throughout their studies at Generations College.
- Finish their studies at Generations College. If for whatever reason the student must suspend their studies at Generations College they must come back and complete their degree within 1 year of them leaving the college.
- Must be in good standing with the Department of Education.
