Transfer Students
Transfer to Generations College
Generations College welcomes transfer students from other institutions. Many students find that small class sizes, personal attention from professors and the flexibility of a two-year institution provides the right environment to help them reach their educational and career goals. In addition, Generations offers generous scholarships to transfer students with high academic achievement.
The admissions process for transfer students is the same as all other applicants. In addition to high school transcripts, students who are transferring colleges should also submit transcripts from the college previously attended. Once a transfer student has been accepted, an academic advisor will assess the transferability of any successfully completed college coursework and/or military credit hours and design a graduation plan for the student.
CRITERIA FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS
A transfer student is considered a student entering Generations College for the first time but previously attended another institution. Transfer students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and be in good academic standing from the previous college or university. For transfer credit to be applied to a program, previous courses must meet the equivalent content and workload of the courses offered at Generations College. Credits that are not acceptable for transfer include remedial, occupational, technical, or non-credit. Candidates may need to take the placement test. However, Generations College may consider candidates with a lower than 2.0 cumulative GPA on a case-by-case basis.
Candidates considering transferring credit to Generations College should request an official transcript from each institution where a student has previously enrolled. Transfer credit is evaluated on a course-by-course basis to determine how the requirements for a selected program are best met. Suppose the student cannot provide the official copy at the time of admission, in that case, an unofficial transcript can be used as a placeholder until the student is able to make arrangements with the Office of the Registrar. Failure to provide transcripts may be regarded as fraudulent admission. In such a case, the student may be dismissed immediately without a refund of any fees for the semester in progress. Once accepted, only the number of credit hours is shown on the student’s transcript but not counted in calculating the grade point average.
Transfer students must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours from Generations College to graduate.

Scholarships For Transfer Students
Generations College offers a $600 scholarship for transfer students during their first semester of enrollment.
To be eligible, transfer students must have completed at least twelve semester hours with a minimum GPA of 3.3 at a regionally accredited institution (HLC) prior to enrolling at Generations College. This scholarship is only available to full-time students pursuing an associate degree.
Candidates must be admitted to the college before the Director of Financial Aid can consider their application for the Transfer Scholarship.
After the first semester, transfer students may apply for additional scholarships.
