How to Register
NEW STUDENTS
Congratulations on your acceptance! Generations College wants you to be a successful student. Therefore before registering for your first classes you will be required to take the Accuplacer Placement test. Your Admissions Representative will assist you with this test. Your performance on this test will help us place you into the appropriate foundation or traditional courses. Although no preparation is required, you may find more information and free sample tests at the Accuplacer website: http://www.accuplacer-test.com.
However, if you have transfer credit from a regionally accredited college or university that satisfies our requirements, you will not need to take the placement test(s). But if you do not provide transfer credit from a regionally accredited college or university nor complete the placement test(s) by the start of a given semester, you will be required to be enrolled in ENG 0900 and/or MATH 0900.
Once we have your results from the Accuplacer you will be able to register. You will be assigned to an advisor on the basis of your program of study. Advising begins with the selection of classes for your first semester and continues throughout your time at Generations College. Your advisor will advise you on course selection and help you clarify your goals, identify unique learning opportunities, and map a personalized path to prepare you for graduation. The final step is to see the Registrar to get officially registered. The Registrar is also available to answer questions regarding registration. Remember that you are ultimately responsible for your own preparation, deadlines, and adherence to the College Policies.
