FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What makes this program different from a regular business degree?

A: The AI Concentration includes five dedicated AI courses that develop real expertise in artificial intelligence as a business tool. While the standard BA includes basic AI literacy (BAI-1200 and BAI-2400), this program adds BAI-2450 Harnessing AI for Entrepreneurial Success, BAI-2560 AI Prompt Engineering, and BAI-2570 Advanced AI Techniques and Application — a curriculum depth that prepares graduates for roles at the intersection of business and technology.

Q: Do I need a tech or coding background to succeed in this program?

A: No. This program is designed for business students, not engineers or programmers. The AI courses focus on strategic application, business use cases, and practical tools — not coding. If you can think critically about business problems, you have what it takes.

Q: Where is the campus located?

A: Generations College is located at 29 E. Madison Street in Chicago’s Loop — the heart of the city’s financial and business district. The campus is accessible by CTA trains, buses, and is surrounded by the corporate offices, startups, and industry leaders our graduates go on to work for.

Q: How big are the classes?

A: Generations College maintains a 25:1 student-to-faculty ratio. Classes are designed to be small enough for meaningful faculty interaction, collaborative learning, and the kind of mentorship relationships that open doors in Chicago’s professional community.

Q: What AI skills will I actually have when I graduate?

A: You’ll graduate with the ability to develop and execute AI-informed business strategies, use AI prompt engineering to produce high-value results from AI systems, apply AI to marketing, operations, finance, and organizational leadership, and lead digital transformation initiatives. These are skills employers are actively recruiting for.

Q: Can I work while attending campus classes?

A: Yes. Many Generations College campus students work while completing their degrees. Our advisors help you build a schedule that balances coursework with professional commitments. The CAPPE program provides additional support for students managing school and work simultaneously.

Q: Is the degree I earn recognized by employers?

A: Yes. Generations College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), and our degrees are recognized nationwide. Our 95% career placement rate reflects the value employers place on a Generations College education.

Q: What is the 2+2 transfer pathway?

A: The 2+2 pathway allows students who have already completed an associate’s degree at an accredited institution to transfer those credits and complete only the upper-division coursework — typically 2 years — at Generations College. It’s a cost-effective, time-efficient path to a bachelor’s degree with an AI Concentration.

Q: Is financial aid available?

A: Yes. Campus students are eligible for federal financial aid, Illinois state grants (MAP), institutional scholarships, employer tuition assistance, and veterans benefits. Our tuition has not increased in over 15 years, making this program one of the most affordable AI business degrees in Chicago.
