Kathy Cortopassi
Kathy Cortopassi graduated in 1984 from Generations College with her degree in Court Reporting. When she enrolled at Generations, she became pregnant with her first child in September and had to go on welfare while pursuing her education. As soon as she passed the Illinois license test, she was able to go off of welfare. Kathy started off as a court reporter, but further honed her skillset to work as a captioner and CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) provider. CART providers work with the deaf and hard-of-hearing in many different settings including corporate, educational, legal, and medical. She makes a very good living and loves what she does. Kathy returned to Generations College to teach in the CART and Captioning Program. She is also the owner of Voice to Print Captioning.
