Established:  1904

Chancellor: Dr. Grace Alexis

Programs: Generations offers associate degrees in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Church Administration Court Reporting, Criminal Justice, and Paralegal Studies. 

First and Finest: The school holds the distinction of having established the first court reporting program in the United States in 1912 and the first paralegal studies program in Illinois in 1973.

Accreditation: The College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and approved by the National Court Reporters Association and American Bar Association.

Articulation Agreements: A partner (articulation agreement) with many universities such as DePaul University and Loyola University Chicago. Transfer your credits to a four-year institution for completion of a bachelor’s degree.

Class Size: Generations prides itself on the personal attention that each student receives. Classes range in size from 10 to 20 students.

Faculty: We employ qualified instructors who have excelled in their field of expertise.
An Ideal Location: The historic Heyworth Building at 29 East Madison Street in downtown Chicago. Indulge in the business, social, and cultural offerings of a world-class city.

Diversity: We celebrate diversity at Generations. Over 50 percent of our students are African American, Latino, Asian American, and Native American. The diversity of our student body also extends to a wide variety of educational backgrounds, ages, and ethnicities.

Alumni: Generations College graduates have gone on to work in judicial courts, law firms, large corporations, and non-profit organizations and to become entrepreneurs.

School Colors: Blue and Gold

Name: Originally named after the founders, Dr. Morton C. MacCormack and his wife, Mary MacCormack. Dr. MacCormack served as the President for 50 years. Updated in 2022 to Generations College to reflect the generational impact in our community, amongst our alumni, and with the families of our graduates for over 120 years!
